chase the sun by Alistair Chong
do you ever wake up
searching for the sun
to only find the fog on the window
rivets of icy water
cutting through the mist
i did
and it felt
have you ever woken
wishing the sun fell on your pillow
to find the sky is plagued
reigned by darkness
and a promise of nothing
i did
and it felt
have you ever lied awake
to the sound of hail
to the numb of ice
to a faded painting
and seen your reflection
have you?

wash
roar by Alistair Chong
the edge
looking down
seems so far up
one step away
from the brink
i see the waves
the hit the rocks
like swaying trees
the sound lifting to my ears
the crash
soothing
ever soothing
calling out to me
28.4.08
lightly
her breath by Alistair Chong
falling,
plucked from her perch
lifted by the breeze,
seduced by the sway.
falling.
dances with the breath
twirling, swaying,
grace is her own.
falling.
softly, feathered hands
drop her to the ground
and she is
falling.
set on the ground
fragile beyond a touch
ever so.
she is.
27.4.08
taken heart
beyond by Alistair Chong
strength
brings me to my knees
the heart
lifts my own
as i see
the purest courage lifted
beyond
the boundaries of love
beyond understanding.
the love.
26.4.08
all
you get by Alistair Chong
dreams and visions
are spent on you
waking moments falling
left in all i am.
i can't get you out
i don't want to.
25.4.08
watcher
fallen by Alistair Chong
washed away with you
are my ever present worries
trials, tribulations are taken
when my breath is
by you
your eyes say it all
the words they soothe
left in ever's time
24.4.08
any day
swash by Alistair Chong
not much left to say
except how i feel
nothing left to speak
but of this
because you've taken everything
you hold my will
keep me, keep me here
heart of wisp
23.4.08
when
simple by Alistair Chong
if things were simple
this wouldn't happen
if things were simple
i'd be elsewhere
if things were simple
i wouldn't.
but they're not.
22.4.08
try
i will by Alistair Chong
giving up is so easy
when things are like this
the fight on verge of leaving
to live as lifeless.
drawing each breath
war against the tide
there's just nothing left
i've lost inside
drifting.

just
by by Alistair Chong
he sits there
staring
the lonely kid
he sits there
accompanied by his thoughts
the lonely kid
he sits there
content with himself
the lonely kid
he sits there
watching
the lonely kid
he walks away
lonely
but safe in himself
20.4.08
ever
there by Alistair Chong
invading
never fading
always there
thoughts
sometimes aching
when i am waking
to yearn
thoughts
mostly ponder
heart in wonder
to ever calling
thoughts
ever present
light of crescent
sweet fell light
thoughts
lost in love
sweetest dove
in these thoughts
of you.
19.4.08
night
less by Alistair Chong
i lie awake
in the deepest hour
eyes left open
vulnerable to the darkness
seeing nothing
but watching you
every move
crowds my thoughts
pushes my own to the side.
do you?
18.4.08
here
when by Alistair Chong
when you are there
you quiet this storm
you break the broken
you find in me who i was
you soothe this angered child
and you dry the tears of hurt
because.
because.

loose
thick by Alistair Chong
they say water is thin
but i don't know
you proved it wrong
violated the laws of nature
and now i see
there is no such thing
as nature.
it'you violated who we were
cut the rope
and burnt down the fortress
you stole our security
and you placed yourself further than the sun
get away from me.

crater
over by Alistair Chong
words
don't say anything
but i hate you.
words
don't say anything
of this fire
of the tears
of blood thick with
bottled rage.
you make me
hate everything
about anything
you make me
want to shatter everything
i touch
make me
want to draw the blade
to pull the trigger
because you made me nothing
it's far too late
to show some remorse

raven
the final four by Alistair Chong
today
i saw a man die
saw him torn away to eternity
and at that moment
i knew more about him than he
as his blood spilled onto the bend
and each guttered draw drew to the end
he died,
just like that.
i saw him die
he doesn't breathe any more
i saw him die
his hands are cold
i saw him die
five minutes ago
he was alive
he died in his blood
died in his life
died, and in those final moments
the life didn't flash before his eyes
it was death staring right into his soul
hungry, waiting.
terror and fear plagued the final four seconds
and then he died.
just like that.
i saw him die
he doesn't breathe any more
i saw him die
his hands are cold
i saw him die
five minutes ago
he was alive

colour
shades by Alistair Chong
all these shades of black
are cool to touch
let's me fall back
on dark feathered touch
these shades of black
are devoid of life
like the battered track
like wind through a knife
that's me
13.4.08
splatter
wall by Alistair Chong
bruised and bloody hands
are nothing
what i can't stand
is words on deaf ears
like drinking sand
bleeding eyes
and backstabbed plans
from these bloody tears
short and sweet
to those
12.4.08
whirlwind
shatter by Alistair Chong
this insanity
is driving me
to the brink
makes me sit
in silent fit
bottled up
i want to smash
these knuckles brash
into stone
to cut this flow
until i grow
from sanity to sanity
to smash my head
until brain dead
so i don't have to
any more

catch by Alistair Chong
it's dark because it's night
because the sun is gone
I chase the moon
but it's the dark who catches me
I search for warmth
in this lost rationality
she is my sense.

positive feedback
smears by Alistair Chong
take a shot
smash my teeth in
pick out the pieces
and savour the taste
you make me want to
smear my thoughts and trivials on the wall
to get through to you
you make me want to pull
the sheet from beneath the china
you make me want to burn this house down
burn it down along with me
and go up in flames
reach to the darkness
quicker than i want to
but you make me want to

lines
i wrote by Alistair Chong
i wrote a heartfelt story
pulled from deep recesses
steeped in dark heart's glory
my heartbeat in every letter
i wrote a story.
i wrote a broken letter
tears on paper stained and torn
worn and left for the better
echoes of this dejected song
i wrote a letter.
i wrote a painful song
to tear apart my soul and explore me
every word and note felt so wrong
a cry, a love crippled story
i wrote a song.

shade
hue by Alistair Chong
leaves begin to fall
lost in time and her endless call
blankets life in hazy red
lifts her softly into bed
and life moves on
swirling in the breathless wind
time's thoughts and cries are echoing
about everything to nothing at all
it's time's endless call.
calling, calling.
love song to you

constricting
waters by Alistair Chong
water chill to my core
becomes colder than war
icy in its grip
more than just the iceberg tip
and there's no boat
no one to reach down
pull me out
before i drown
more than neck deep
in this bottomless end.
6.4.08
winding
tar by Alistair Chong
on the road
looking back
on the road
risking crash
crash and burn
but i won't stop
stop and turn
this weight
i must carry
so heavy, great
breaks me
should i stop?

deep brown
lost in by Alistair Chong
close your eyes
lift them to the sky
in your heart
i am by your side
in your heart
stare right back
lost in this gaze
in my heart
my soul found in your ways
in my heart
hold me tight
i wish forever
but who knows
but you
who knows
4.4.08
flight
lift by Alistair Chong
eyes tight shut
hold back non existent tears
eyes tight shut
bring my soul to you in fear
eyes tight shut
will these hands to rise
eyes tight shut
mask my heart twisted cries

drop
falling by Alistair Chong
rain falls softly on me
droplets of brokenness
rain falls softly on me
washes through in hopelessness
rain falls softly on me
soaked in this saturated hurt
rain falls softly on me
slowly becoming worse
rain is falling
pouring down
rain by Breaking Benjamin
take the photograph, it'll be the last
not a dollar or a crowd could ever keep me here
i don't have a past, i just have a chance
not a family or honest plea remains to say
rain rain go away
come again another day
all the world is waiting for the sun
is it you i want, or just the notion of
a heart to wrap so i can find my way around
safe to say from here, you're getting closer now
we are never sad 'cause we are not allowed to be
rain rain go away
come again another day
all the world is waiting for the sun
rain rain go away
come again another day
all the world is waiting for the sun
to lie here under you
is all that i could ever do
to lie here under you is all
to lie here under you
is all that i could ever do
to lie here under you is all
rain rain go away
come again another day
all the world is waiting for the sun
rain rain go away
come again another day
all the world is waiting for the sun
all the world is waiting for the sun
all the world is waiting for the sun

watch
empty by Alistair Chong
wind blows
blows empty leaves
from right to left
blows empty people
taking pointless steps
blows their wishful thoughts
into the crosswind
blows them to emptiness
to those who are listening
and while the wind blows
the rain is falling

fool
I Guess by Alistair Chong
I'm listening but I just can't hear
I'm lost just to everything you are
My heart in your hand when you are near
Your's engraved in my soul when you are far
And I'm clueless to you
Are you the same?
I guess I'm lost
I guess I have no idea
I don't know what I am to you
And that's why I fear
Is this it?
I watch you, lost in your eyes
Turn away, so sick, so saddened
My heartbeat pulled from its disguise
Don't dare to look back, what has happened?
I'm so clueless to this
Turns me insane
I guess I'm lost
I guess I have no idea
I don't know what I am to you
And that's why I fear
Is this it?
The stars playing their joke on me
Laugh in their beauty, in their blackness cruel
I guess I'm meant be
Well I guess I'm April's fool.
